Watch BMW Tests its Systems in R&D Dynamic Driving Simulator

Nowadays, the “ultimate driving machines” are loaded with technology. However, before rolling them out in its models, BMW tests them exhaustively to ensure they enhance safety.

Before real cars embark on testing those systems clocking thousands of miles around the globe, the Munich-based automaker first reviews how they interface with the driver at its R&D center.

BMW Execs Rationalize New 3-Series Gran Turismo in Promo Video

Leave it to company officials (with scripted dialogues, of course) to convince you that what you're seeing is the perhaps most beautiful and practical piece of machinery ever invented in the history of mankind.

BMW's promo videos are no exception to this rule, as you will soon find out for yourself in the clip that was created for the newly introduced BMW 3-Series Gran Turismo.

Watch a Reckless BMW M5 Driver in a Real-Life Need for Speed Video in Georgia

If you're a regular here at CarScoop, then you've probably played some version of Electronic Art's Need for Speed racing video game and are aware of the concept.

Now, driving a virtual car like there's no tomorrow, disregarding every law on the book and endangering any life that shares the road with you on Need for Speed is one thing, practicing the same in real life is a completely different game, one that nobody should ever play…

Vilner's Stylish Tale of Two Customized BMW Models

A BMW 5-Series sedan (F10) and a 6-Series Coupe with an M Package (F12) are the two latest cars to fall into the hands of Bulgarian design studio Vilner, which afforded them a similar makeover beginning with their exterior that is covered in a matte white foil wrap accented by black spoilers and darkened tail lamp clusters. Feast…or Burn Your Eyes on 130 Photos and Videos of the New BMW 3-Series Gran Turismo

Chris Bangle has long resigned from his role as chief designer of BMW, but the Munich-based brand with the blue-and-white propeller badge continues to cause controversy with the styling of its models.

We'd hardly call the 5 Series Gran Turismo (GT) a commercial success, yet BMW still has faith in the 'tall liftback' recipe, so it applied the same treatment on the smaller 3-Series range as it races to cover every single niche possible in the premium segments.

According to BMW, "this third body variant of the current model family unites the sporty-dynamic genes of the Sedan with the practicality and versatility of the Touring – attributes that are complemented by a palpable boost in space and ride comfort".

In case you were wondering or simply missed out on our previous coverage when the first images of the car leaked online, the new 3-Series Gran Turismo is actually 200mm (7.9 inches) longer in total than the 3-Series Touring, comes with a 110mm (4.3 inches) longer wheelbase and stands 81mm (3.2 inches) taller.

Meet the Ultimate Pizza Delivery Machine

Perhaps you may remember a competition launched last year by Domino's Pizza and Local Motors to find the "Ultimate Delivery Vehicle". The winning entry was a concept vehicle called the 'Domino's Pack' by Anej Kostrevc from Slovenia, which you can check out in the gallery after the break.

For all intents and purposes, Kostrevc's study for a single-seater model with a tiny Fiat TwinAir engine driving the front wheels would be fine for delivering pizzas, but ask any true car fan, and they will likely tell you that the idea proposed by "Team Door Bangers", sounds far more intriguing from a driver's perspective…

BMW Z4 Roadster Makes Zombies Feel Alive in "Warm Bodies"

In a world where advertising is just about everywhere you look, it should come as no surprise that companies are quite fond of the communication tool known as "product placement", in which brands and their goods are integrated into storylines.

In the automotive industry, BMW is no stranger to product placement in movies, with its cars having been prominently featured (indirectly advertised) in many films, including three James Bond flicks with Pierce Brosnan in the role of 007.

BMW Driver Discovers that You Cant's go Too Far with a Clamper on Your Wheel…

No one likes to see their car clamped down, regardless if they deserve it or not, but once it happens, the only other thing you can really do besides paying the ticket is to complain about it.

Well, at least these are the options for someone rational, because you could always defy logic and attempt something stupid like drive away with one of your wheels locked in the clamp, which is precisely what an elderly man from Dublin, Ireland, tried to do in a BMW 5-Series Touring (E39).

'Banglenam Style' BMW 7-Series Riding on 28-inch Tall Spinners

As if Chris Bangle's E65 BMW 7-Series from the 2000s needed the extra cosmetic attention, some folks over in Florida have donked out their rides with massive 28-inch tall spinners and are darn proud of it.

On the blingy bright side, these huge Dub Revolution wheels draw our eyes off the 7-Series' infamous Bangle-butt, which can only be a good thing…

2 or 4 Doors? C&D Pits the BMW M6 Against the M5 to Find Out

BMWs bearing the tricolor M badge have been for quite some time the darlings of sports car fans. M3s, apart from the E36, have been worshiped; M5s likewise – even the 1-Series M Coupe-based received raving reviews.

In every family, though, there’s a black sheep: in BMW's M-family, it’s the M6. This is kind of weird, as it’s supposed to be pegged at the top of the food chain. It just couldn't cut it, though, against rivals such as Porsche's 911 Turbo.

The all-new, second-generation of the 6-Series wasn’t very well received by the motoring press, either. Can the new, third generation M6 coupe change that perception?

Auto Express Pits BMW M135i Against Subaru WRX STi 320R

Once upon a time, not too long ago, buyers rarely cross shopped between Subarus and BMWs, but now, with the way that the Bavarian brand has expanded its range into most segments of the market, many of its cars directly challenge the Japanese brand's models in terms of specs and surprisingly, pricing as well.

A prime example is the newly launched in Europe BMW M135i hatchback, which with 316bhp (320PS) and 450Nm (332 lb-ft) from its turbocharged 3.0-liter straight, the option of either RWD or AWD configurations, and a UK starting price of £30,555 for the six-speed manual 3d and £31,970 for the 8-speed auto 3d model, matches the Subaru WRX STi.

BMWs and Two-Wheelers Don't Mix in Taiwan

Here's another episode between a BMW driver and a biker in Taiwan. Whereas last time, we saw a bicyclist crossing paths with a BMW (and paying the price for it…), now it's a scooter rider.

The person steering what looks to be a BMW M5 E61 sedan charges off as soon as the light turns green but is soon annoyed by the presence of a motorcyclist.

Beware of Fast Driving BMWs

Driving on a city road as if Frank Martin (from The Transporter film series) is chasing you is never a good idea and it can get you and other people in trouble or even worse, as was the case with this BMW owner.

The video commentary says the accident happened in Taiwan, with the footage showing the BMW driver knocking down a bicyclist, who we're not sure if he was crossing the road from a side street or if he was in front of the car at the time.

Guess What this BMW X6 is Hauling Up in the Snow

'Snowcat' is a generic term used for enclosed-cabin, fully tracked machinery that are made exclusively for use in snow (hence the name). They are employed not only on ski resorts, to prepare the trails, but also by military forces and other organizations.

As 4x4s have evolved in the past two decades from rugged, no-frill tools to civilized and luxurious vehicles that retain some degree of off-road capability, seeing one stuck in mud or snow is not uncommon these days – especially if the driver hasn’t fitted winter tires.

Time-Lapse Video Shows Why Snow Can be Uncool

If you're one of those people who dream of a "White Christmas", then you're probably either too young to drive or you happen to live in an area that never sees snow, because if you do, you should know that those white flurries dropping from the sky may look cool, but most of the times, they're a great hassle. Polish BMW Drifters Return with New Hoon Video

Just in time for the holiday season, the Polish crew from JBB, an acronym for Jazda Bardziej Bokiem that translates to "More Driving Sideways", has released a new video dedicated to the newly born daughter of one of their drift team's members.

To refresh your memory, JBB had impressed us last December with a short drift film featuring a custom BMW 3-Series E30 that was unleashed on a large truck lot.

CarScoop Wishes You a Very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Some say that editors and contributors on this site have petrol instead of blood flowing in their veins and that they’d rather show you the new Ferrari F150 or the Corvette C7 than spend a night with a bunch of Victoria’s Secret angels.

All we know is that everyone here at CarScoop wishes you a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays and that we will be taking some time off today (don't worry, we've planned some stories) before resuming normal operations.

Before we bid thee farewell and warn you to drive safely and, in case you intend to have a drink or two, designate a driver or just leave your car keys at home, there’s some breaking news we’d like to share with you.

Convoy of 2014 BMW X5 and Possibly X5M Prototypes Filmed in Georgia

A YouTuber who goes by the name Frank Steele stumbled upon a convoy of five 2014 BMW X5 prototypes in the city of Chamblee in Georgia, this past Sunday.

We can't be 100 percent certain because of the quality of the video and the fact that the cars were on the move, but there's a good chance that the first model seen in clip may be an M Performance model or an X5 fitted with the M Sport Package, while the fourth test car looks like it could be the new X5M.
